Technical appointment at IPS

IPS Ceramics has announced that the latest addition to the team began work at the Stoke-on-Trent headquarters on 27 May 2014. He is Brian Wycherley, who has joined the ceramic experts as Technical & Business Development Manager. Brian has most recently enjoyed several successful years in local government but previous to that was Technical Manager with a leading kiln furniture manufacturer.
In that role Brian headed the group responsible for both R&D and QA test work, including the development of the in-process test and technical procedures required for ISO 9001 conformity.
During this period he was also responsible for developing new ceramic materials for kiln furniture manufacture, several of which became commercial products. Brian worked with formulations for uniaxial pressing, extrusion and slip casting. He also led the management team in performance improvement activities.
“We’re delighted to welcome Brian to IPS and we look forward to making the very best of both his technical and business expansion capabilities,” said sales director Phil Green. “He joins the company at an exciting time – particularly with our growing portfolio of technical ceramic products – and he will quickly become a familiar contact for a range of customer enquiries.”
In certain areas of his role Brian will replace the responsibilities held by Chris Leese who has left IPS for pastures new. “Chris has been a key member of our team since its inception and for 20 years before that with our predecessor companies,” said Phil Green. “Throughout that time he has made a valuable contribution to all aspects of the business and his technical expertise, in particular, has been much appreciated by our customers. Everyone here at IPS Ceramics wants to wish Chris all the very best for the future.”
